In-ter-mit-tent fasting. I see it everywhere, Instagram, Youtube, so I thought what is this all about. Right before my holiday to Hong Kong and Taiwan, I started my journey in Intermittent Fasting (IF). After four weeks, four whole weeks, I can say that I am loving this new way of eating. In the scene, they call it IF. At first, I thought why are you capitalizing the word ‘if’? Only reading IF for a couple more times I realized that it stands for Intermittent Fasting. Like anything else, you need to do your thorough research before trying something new, especially if it has to do with your body. I did my research, in other words – reading other people’s articles and experiments, and found out interesting facts about intermittent fasting that I will share with you in a bit.
What is Intermittent Fasting?
IF is not a diet. It’s a habit of eating, it’s an eating pattern. You are fasting for a period of time and then you break your fast and you eat. If you don’t know what fasting is, well you simply don’t eat for a period of time. I’m not an intermittent fasting professional but IF has been proven to be an amazing fat loss tool, if done correctly, you can even gain muscle mass.
Fat burner
A short quick synopsis of why IF is a good fat burner. You are eating throughout the day, an average person eats 5-6 meals a day (3 mains and 3 snacks) others perhaps 3-4 meals. Whatever your current eating habits are your body is constantly relying on that food you are eating as an energy source. Absorbing the glucose what is getting you through the day. IF has a fasting period, so when the food is gone and there’s no food to rely on for that glucose it starts attacking the fat that is already stored in your body and using that as glucose! Bingo!
